So what is Black Inck? There are many ways to answer this question.
Black Inck is a caleidoscopic-symphonical audio experience; Black Inck is a german rock band; Black Inck is a reference to Shakespeare's sonnets; Black Inck is a quite catchy, unique style of music.

Founded in june 2005, getting backup from Kris in february 2006, the band proved strong against quite a few inconvenient incidents, having written and arranged over a dozen songs in about a year. Black Inck lives and plays in Oberursel, near Frankfurt, in the cellar of the local youth center. All songs originate from the members of the band, making them purely Black Inck.

The musical influences crashing down together could hardly very further in any way. Nine, lead singer and guitarist, with a chord-based, but well structured, quite indie-punky sound; Rob, guitarist, with his flowing, lethargic playing as well as melancholic melodies; Erik, the drummer, with technically polished, pulsating rhythms and riffs; Kris, the keyboarder, with a psychodelic-symphonical sound and quite a hand for ballad melodies.
But for some reason it all fits. Having all band members integrated in the songwriting process, Black Inck maintain a very one-of-a-kind, singular sound they call "Neobscurock", although succeeding in making each song sound completely new and unique. The stylistic spectrum reaches from the symphonic music-box-sound of "Harlequin" over the straight away rock-song "Black Ink" up to the piano-based rock ballad "Bluebottle" or the lethargic, dark "I Won't Reach Twenty-Seven".
